Les Deux Magots, Paris
This famous French café originated in 1813 as a drapery store, and went through a phase as a wine merchant, before being transformed into its current role by Auguste Boulay in 1914; itt is currently managed by Auguste's great-great-granddaughter. The café's name derives from a popular 19th century play, The Two Figurines of China, and these 'deux magots' are still visible inside the café today.
